Dallas Haselhorst grew up in Hays, KS, and still resides there today. He is an IT and cybersecurity consultant with over 20 years of experience in numerous industries. Much of his career was spent starting and growing an IT service company until its acquisition in July 2016. Dallas obtained concurrent bachelor degrees in Information Networking and Telecommunications (INT) and Computer Information Systems (CIS) from Fort Hays State University. In 2019, Dallas obtained a Master of Science in Information Security Engineering (MSISE) degree from the SANS Technology Institute (STI). Dallas currently holds numerous information security certifications, including the CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, GCCC, GCPM, GPEN, GMON, GCIA, GWAPT, and GDSA. Dallas also has the GSE (GIAC Security Expert) certification, which is widely considered one of the most difficult credentials to obtain in the IT security industry. Dallas founded TreeTop Security shortly after his previous IT company was acquired. TreeTop Security strives to provide comprehensive and affordable cybersecurity solutions to every small business. As part of that mission, TreeTop created, maintains, and provides a free, downloadable cybersecurity awareness training that has become one of the most used cybersecurity awareness resources in the world. When not working or spending time with his wife and four daughters, you can also find him as one of the organizers for the annual BSidesKC conference in Kansas City.
