Cause the Effect: How Intentional People Development Impacts Retention and Organizational Growth Strategies

    Overview:

The effects of the Great Resignation/Reset/Reshuffle are continuing to impact our organizations. Many of us don’t have a hiring problem; we have a retention problem, and we’re all aware of the cost of turnover. If we want to positively impact retention, statistics support the case for employee development as a means to increase engagement and to retain workers.

During this session, the presenter will cover the following:

    • various development options
    • the role of personality assessments
    • the value of job experience to build skill development
    • the role of mentoring programs
    • manager hesitations
    • benefits of career mapping & career path transparency
    • the importance of intentional development planning

Attendees will leave this session with tools and techniques to create and implement employee development programs in their organizations. They will learn the key differences between training and development and understand the negative impact of dysfunctional managers on an employee development program. Attendees will also learn how employee development programs can enhance succession planning, and they will explore potential barriers and biases that may emerge as they work to develop and roll out a successful employee development plan at their organizations.
